Today I totally went off script. I felt a tad under the weather this morning, so I decided to use what I had on hand instead of going shopping for the ingredients of today's recipe.
I ended up using 1 banana, 3 kiwi fruit, soaked goji berries, 1 Japanese cucumber, 3 stalks of kale, 1 small head of butter lettuce and 1 lime (BIG MISTAKE). Thanks for your encouraging words Tracie! Today, I had the apple-spinach smoothie with a tablespoon of flax seeds. YUCK! I guess the apples were not ripe enough and it tasted kind of bland. My first day of the green smoothie was interesting. I now know that I need to do as much advance planning as possible. It took me fifteen minutes of prep time to do something that only took a minute to blend., I have a Vitamix, and I'm grateful for that. I tried the Banana with Goji and Maca Powerhake which was delicious! I only had a sixteen ounce mug so I brought the rest to work and gave to a co-worker who enjoyed it as well.
