I was cutting my fruit for a smoothie this morning and it was so tasty I decided to have a fruit salad instead. I had a peach and mango fruit salad with a small banana, spinach, vanilla, cinnamon and water smoothie. YUM! What's in your blender?

Good morning! Having breakfast, helping a friend move (I'm on light moving duty), and then heading off to the Chicago Green Festival! Breakfast to kickstart my morning is 1 mango, 2 peaches, 1 head of butterhead lettuce, 1 medium carrot, 2 tablespoons goji berries and 8 ounces of filtered water. What's in your blender? Sleeping and Hot flashes

Posted by Linda on May 13, 2013 at 5:04pm 2 Comments

I just started green smoothies last week, only doing it once a day.

Does anybody have a smoothie for not sleeping and hot flashes?

I'm sure it is hormones.

Spring 2013 Challenge Day 7

Posted by Patricia Thompson on March 27, 2013 at 5:28am 0 Comments

Today I totally went off script. I felt a tad under the weather this morning, so I decided to use what I had on hand instead of going shopping for the ingredients of today's recipe.

I ended up using 1 banana, 3 kiwi fruit, soaked goji berries, 1 Japanese cucumber, 3 stalks of kale, 1 small head of butter lettuce and 1 lime (BIG MISTAKE). The lime made the whole smoothie so tart, I had to literally force myself to drink it. I will not ever do that again. I even blended in an extra…

Day 2 of my Green Smoothie Adventure

Posted by June Rocio on March 26, 2013 at 12:16pm 2 Comments

Thanks for your encouraging words  Tracie! Today, I had the apple-spinach smoothie with a tablespoon of flax seeds. YUCK! I guess the apples were not ripe enough and it tasted kind of bland. I just read that you should alternate your greens.  I wondering which green plant would work best for the Banana and Goji Smoothie?  Today's smoothie did not decrease my desire for coffee. I've had mutiple cups today and I'm kinda of tired. I wanted to alternate between the Goji Smoothie and the Apple…

My first day with the green smoothie

Posted by June Rocio on March 25, 2013 at 6:27pm 1 Comment

My first day of the green smoothie was interesting. I now know that I need to do as much advance planning as possible. It took me fifteen minutes of prep time to do something that only took a minute to blend., I have a Vitamix, and I'm grateful for that.  I tried the Banana with Goji and Maca Powerhake which was delicious!  I only had a sixteen ounce mug so I  brought the rest  to work and gave to a co-worker who enjoyed it as well. After drinking the  smoothie, the results were…
